Cost per student/per quarter: $5.00 (Breakdown: $3.70 goes to REEF, $0.37 for administrative
assessment, and $0.93 for return-to-aid).

Length of Collection: Up for reaffirmation every 4 years.
The REEF’s mission is to educate and connect people from all backgrounds to our marine resources and
to train our future leaders in marine science and conservation. These fees will help the REEF maintain
and expand its current UCSB student services including undergraduate training, experiential learning, and
employment in our K-16 outreach programs. Fees will be used to augment critical staff salaries (including
UCSB undergraduates), assist with maintenance, and provide program materials. The fees will allow the
REEF to support all UCSB students and our community of learners in Southern California year-round and
for the foreseeable future.
