STATEMENT
My name is Samuel, and I am running for Internal Vice President to initiate a fundamental shift in how Associated Students manages your money.
As a Junior in CCS, I believe student government should operate as a steward of student wealth, not just a spending machine.
If elected, I will execute a "Students First" fiscal overhaul based on these pillars:
• The 30-Day Fee Refund: Within my first 30 days, I will push a bill to refund up to $200 in A.S. Fees back to every student. You know how to spend your money better than the association does.
• The Student Wealth Fund: I will move to invest a significant portion of student fee reserves into the market. By establishing a long-term growth plan and withdrawing 4% annually to be distributed back to the student body, we can ensure that being a Gaucho pays dividends, literally.
• Ending Honoraria & Resume Padding: Service should be its own reward. I will eliminate honoraria for AS elected officials and implement strict performance reviews to ensure that "leadership" is about actual work, not just padding a resume.
• Students Fees for Students Only: I will advocate for strict policies ensuring that every dollar collected from students is used exclusively for the benefit of current students.
The IVP's job is to oversee the internal health and finances of AS. I am asking for your vote to transform our association into a transparent, wealth-generating entity that prioritizes your bank account over bureaucratic overhead.
