1. Living conditions in Isla Vista suck, and landlords are even worse.
2. Cops bully our neighbors, prey on our friends, and get paid by a county that gives the Sheriff anything he asks for.
3. Deltopia is gone because we have no representation, no voice in our own community.

As EVPLA, I will continue the work I’ve done in Associated Students to solve these issues and advocate for students while holding the administration and county accountable.

Here’s what I’ve already delivered:
- I was the only elected student leader who actually fought to LOWER STUDENT FEES by working with the Chancellor to cancel the wasteful USSA fee, saving students $170,000+ per year.
- I made sure, in negotiations with administration, that the library doesn’t close at midnight and opens before your 8am.
- I created a framework for you to get REIMBURSED FOR REQUIRED COURSE TEXTBOOKS and online software like ALEKS through the Textbook Grant Support Program (see the Book Bank’s Instagram).

Here’s what’s I'll do:
1. We can reign in the police with better policies. I know how to implement those policies by working with administration and IVCSD. It’s time to stop the Sheriff from deciding everything that happens in IV.
2. I will fight to hold accountable the slumlords that allow cockroach infestations, rampant mold, and threaten to evict you for hosting band shows. I’ve already begun the process of TAKING LEGAL ACTION against them.
3. I will work to establish business units (IMAGINE A POOL HALL IN IV) with the goal of generating revenue to eliminate student fees.

With a proven capacity to influence change and successfully lead initiatives that benefit students, I will ensure that your student fees are spent transparently and invested in programs that directly support you and the Isla Vista community. As EVPLA, I will help build a campus and community that works for us. Let’s save Isla Vista.
