STATEMENT

Hey Gauchos! My name is Lucy Lin, and I am so excited to run for Off-Campus Senator. I know I have what it takes to make tangible change.
Over the past year, I have been involved in the AS Outreach Committee, where I helped write and present base bills to the Associated Students Senate, reform boards, committees, and units, and revise legal code for the Liaison Committee. I have also worked on projects to improve IV living conditions, including distributing mold test kits and other important safety resources. And yes, I have spent a lot of time tabling in front of the Arbor…definitely negative aura points (pls don’t hold that against me).
I take pride in handling responsibility and following through. At UCSB, I serve as a Vice President on a Panhellenic sorority executive board, where I lead, problem-solve, and support a large and diverse community. It honestly feels like running a company of hundreds…just without the paycheck. From reviewing logistics and policies to serving as a confidential resource and leading long meetings, I have learned how to balance accountability with care.
I have also organized impactful events, including a women’s health initiative focused on intersectionality, reproductive health, mental health, and access to care, where we distributed over 100 boxes of menstrual products for free. I am passionate about healthcare access and will continue advocating for it.
Outside of this, I love traveling (Barcelona and Ibiza were unreal), being outdoors (75 miles on the PCT and Mt. Shasta!), volunteering at animal shelters, and staying active (i love corepower but can also hit 160 yards with my 6 iron). I also have four younger siblings, which is probably why I naturally take care of others.
I don’t do anything halfway. I show up, I follow through, and I get results. So if you want someone reliable, driven, and genuinely committed (and a super charming personality according to my mom), vote Lucy Lin for Off-Campus Senator.
LIN FOR THE WIN!!
