Hayden Nguyen

Hi Gauchos! I’m Hayden Nguyen, a first-year Communication major running to be your next Off-campus Senator at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

UCSB has already given me so much from community, opportunities, and a place to call home. I am running to give back and make that experience even better for you.

As someone from a mixed, multicultural background, I know how important it is to feel like you belong. While UCSB is diverse, I am well aware that not everyone always feels included. I want to help change that by building a campus where every student feels seen, heard, and valued.

The student government should work for you. Right now, it might feel distant and unclear. I will push for real transparency, with the intentions of having clear communication, openness to feedback, and decisions you actually understand.

I am also committed to strengthening our community, both on campus and in Isla Vista. We all share this space, let’s make it more connected, inclusive, and supportive.

Mental health matters. The reality of our current resources result in long wait times and limited access to care, which is beyond frustrating. I will advocate for better resources and faster, more accessible support.

I am running to represent you - to listen, to act, and to make real change.
