Evan DiCarlo
Off Campus Senator
Independent

STATEMENT

My name is Evan DiCarlo, and I am running for Associated Students Senate as an Off-Campus Senator. I am a Political Science and Economics double major, and as a student preparing to live in Isla Vista next year, I want to help strengthen the connection between campus and the off-campus community while ensuring students feel represented in decisions that affect their daily lives.

As the Special Projects Coordinator for the AS Office of the President, I have already begun working on initiatives that promote school pride. If elected, I will continue to build a stronger campus identity by supporting athletics and creating more opportunities for students to come together, including tailgates and social events that bring energy and pride to UCSB. Building a more connected student body is one of my main priorities.

I am also committed to advocating for transparency and accountability from the university. Off-campus students deserve clear communication and a stronger voice in the policies that impact them. In particular, I believe transparency in how campus organizations allocate student funds is essential.

Additionally, I will continue my work on meal plan reforms and expanding Gaucho Bucks to create more flexible and accessible dining options. Students should have greater freedom in how they use their meal plans and access food on campus.

Overall, I am running to represent all off-campus students and to help build a stronger, more connected UCSB community. I would be honored to earn your support.
