Victoria Ly

Hi everyone! I’m Victoria (Vicky) Ly, and I’m running to be your Off-Campus Senator! I am a 2nd year Psych & Brain and Sociology double major, and I’ve always had a passion for making a difference and serving my community. I’ve been part of student government ever since the 5th grade, and I want to continue making an impact at UCSB. I am heavily involved in the UCSB community, and I can represent many different groups on campus – Women’s Club Sports Rugby treasurer, Alpha Sigma Kappa Women-in-Stem member, A.S. Isla Vista Community Relations Committee Pearman Fellow, Sociology Association intern, and Housing and Operations Service Center student assistant. I understand the importance of all the various groups on campus, and I will tirelessly advocate for student policies and ensure funding is allocated towards things that serve the student body’s best interest.

As senator, I want to make sure that A.S. is as transparent as possible. With all the student fees, you deserve to know where your funds are going and how they are being spent. Additionally, I want your voices to be heard so that I can do my best to advocate for your wants and needs. Your input is essential, and I will strive to be a welcoming and accessible presence for you to share your thoughts and opinions. Some of my priorities include improving our limited meal plan system, addressing food insecurity and the housing crisis, expanding awareness and accessibility of campus resources, and continuing to support all the events that make UCSB great. I will be a catalyst for change.
