Le Anh Metzger

Hi Gauchos! I’m Le Anh Metzger, a 3rd year Global Studies, Communication, & Spanish major, and I want to be your next President.

For 3 years, I’ve worked to make UCSB safer and more inclusive—I get things done. I expanded overdose prevention by distributing 2,000+ Narcan kits before Deltopia, and by Fall ‘25, Narcan will be in all university housing. Every dead week, you’ll find me handing out free snacks & hosting petting zoos to support your well-being.

My experience in BCUs, Executive Offices, & RCOs has equipped me with institutional knowledge and resilience to make change. Here are my goals as President:

→ BASIC NEEDS: Bring a free food pantry & monthly farmer’s market to IV to increase access to fresh groceries
→ HOUSING: Collect data to lobby for safer housing; launch Rate My Landlord; distribute water filters & mold kits
→ MENTAL HEALTH: Expand Mental Health First Aid training, remote mental health support, & suicide prevention services
→ SAFETY: Expand overdose prevention efforts; install lights on bike paths & Pardall Rd
→ STUDENT OUTREACH: Weekly office hours at the Arbor; work with USS, OISS, MCC, & cultural resource centers; increase awareness of existing resources & leadership opportunities by streamlining websites & Instagram accounts
→ BCU SUPPORT: Attend BCU meetings; protect autonomy & funding; create trainings on Canvas; promote collaboration
→ RCO SUPPORT: Expand funding access; build storage spaces in IV
→ SUPPORT IV BANDS: Register bands as campus affiliates to facilitate hiring & equipment rentals
