STATEMENT
Hello everyone! My name is Eemaan Wahidullah, and I’m excited to be re-running to serve as your off-campus senator.
I'm a second-year majoring in Biology and Political Science. And over the years, I’ve remained deeply committed to uplifting marginalized voices and underrepresented communities through AS, UCSB, or simply being a friend to various needy groups.
This past year, I’ve grown not only as a senator but also as a student who values community. My leadership experience spans numerous organizations, including PSA, Fashion Club, WIB, Pre-Medical Society, MSA, and cultural advocacy groups. I’ve also been a self-published author of children’s books, promoting representation, and volunteered with nonprofits aiding families in Afghanistan. Additionally, I’ve contributed to local political campaigns and continued advocating for equity across spaces I occupy.
My platforms remain focused on:
- Advocating for marginalized communities
- Ensuring funding goes to basic needs like food and housing
- Expanding support for religious and cultural groups
- Promoting environmental sustainability
- Pushing for university divestment from harmful industries and reinvestment in our Isla Vista community
UCSB is home to many vibrant, diverse communities, but these groups often lack accurate representation in the student government. I want to continue being a voice for those communities and help them receive the recognition, resources, and respect they deserve.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out on my senator account @senatoreemaan.
Let’s keep building a more inclusive UCSB—vote for Eemaan Wahidullah as an off-campus senator!
