Santa Barbara County overdose deaths have increased by approximately 68% in the past 7 years. In 2022, Deltopia contained 30 emergency calls; normally, there are roughly 12 a day. My name is Justin Shirazian, and I believe that the medical safety of students is a priority. To push for medical safety in AS alongside campus organizations is my goal, to protect students' lives is my goal. Narcan training, AED usage, CPR, and STOP THE BLEED training should all be institutionalized to foster a safer UCSB. College is a place to live your life to the fullest, my goal is to allow all students to have that chance.
