STATEMENT

I am excited to announce my candidacy for the position of Transfer Senator on the UCSB Associated Students Senate for the 2024-2025 school year!
As a dedicated member of the transfer student community, and current chair of the A.S. Transfer Student Alliance, I am deeply committed to advocating for our unique needs and ensuring that our voices are heard within the university's governance. Having undergone the transition from community college to UCSB myself, I understand the challenges and opportunities that transfer students encounter. I am passionate about making the transfer experience as smooth and fulfilling as possible for all students who choose to transfer to UCSB.

If elected, I will strive to address key issues facing transfer students, including the integration into the overall UCSB community, accessibility and inclusivity, as well as representation and advocacy. I aim to foster a sense of belonging and community among transfer students by facilitating meaningful connections and friendships. I am committed to ensuring that campus facilities, resources, and events are accessible to all transfer students, regardless of the path taken to get to our university. As your Transfer Senator, I will be a constant advocate for the needs and concerns of transfer students, amplifying our voices in discussions and decisions that affect our university experience. I bring to this role a strong sense of leadership, empathy, and a genuine desire to serve my fellow students. Through active engagement, open communication, and collaboration with both students and university administration, I am confident that together we can effect positive change and create a more supportive and inclusive environment for all transfer students at UCSB.
