Tyler Barth
Off Campus Senator
Campus United

STATEMENT

Howdy!

My name is Tyler Barth and I am a first-year Political Science major running with CAMPUS UNITED to serve as your next Off-Campus Senator! I am incredibly passionate about this beautiful campus and its welcoming community. I’ve cherished every minute spent at UCSB and now seek to make the Gauchos more of a FAMILY next year and for many after.

What Have I Done?
- Campus Democrats member: registered IV residents to vote during midterm election season
- Active member of Santa Barbara Hillel
- 5 Year Juvenile Prosecuting and Defense Attorney for misdemeanor cases in home district: advocated to a jury regarding the consequential verdict
- California Boys State Representative
- 3 Year Youth & Government Delegate/Alumni
- Event Coordinator for Oak Ridge High School Community Service Events

What’s my Vision?
- PHONE ALERTS: Instead of emails, automatically sign up all Gauchos for emergency phone alerts in order to increase awareness at a much quicker pace. This should be a requirement, not an option.
- RELIGIOUS INCORPORATION: Establish a religious center in partnership with the Department of Religious Studies where events, ideas, organizations, and anything affiliated with religious groups at UCSB can be shared.
- PUBLIC SAFETY: Partner with Foot Patrol/CSOs to promote weekday safety in Isla Vista. Further efforts must be made to increase security and safety when students are walking alone.

It would be my privilege to represent the student body of UCSB. I would ensure that every individual has a voice by acting as their amplifier, vocalizing any concern brought to me and raising awareness of these concerns within the Senate. I plan to be accessible and approachable, so that the Gaucho family feels comfortable enough to come to me for any possible conversations.
