University Center Pro Statement

In fall quarter, 2006, students voted to implement a $6.00 per quarter fee to support the University Center. This funding was part of the Students Initiative Fee and was sponsored by the University Center Governance Board (a student majority board that sets policy for the UCen). The fee was reaffirmed in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019.

We’re asking you to once again support the UCen by voting Yes to reaffirm the fee. Why vote Yes?

• Your support will continue to fund the types of programs and activities held in the Hub over the past two years including virtual events, concerts, comedy, DJ’s, dances, spoken word, and fundraisers for student organizations. Over 50 live events were held in the Hub prior to closing for the pandemic. The Hub has held virtual events ever since.
• Live concerts co-sponsored with the AS Program Board included SABA and RAVYN. Concerts cosponsored with the Propaganda Club include DJ Graves and ARMNHMR. The UCen has partnered with many Student Organizations including Hermanas Unidas, SBKlub, Queer Commission, POPS Orchestra, the Professional Fraternity Council and RHA to bring you events such as Shout It Out Bingo, Zoo to You, and Banda Night.
• During campus closure we partnered with SBKlub, Wellness Center, Hermanas Unidas and QTC, Hermanos Unidos, Pops Orchestra and the Food Bank and Campus Dining. Events include Shout It Out Bingo, speaker Minaa B., comedians and alumnus Chinedu Unaka and Corde Snell, music trivia games and cooking classes just to name a few.
• The UCen is one of the largest employers of students on campus and your support of this fee helps us to fund their salaries.
