Do you support the continued funding of a mandatory fee of $12.84 per undergraduate student for Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer quarters to support the AS Food Bank (of the $12.84 collected, $3.21 is for return to aid, $0.62 is for a 7% administrative assessment collected on all non-capital expenditures, $0.08 is for the AS recharge fee and $8.93 will go to the AS Food Bank)? If reaffirmed, the fee would be subject to reaffirmation every two years as mandated by the AS constitution.
Pro Statements
The AS Food Bank is a student-run, student-funded organization whose mission is to alleviate food insecurity on campus by providing free food and basic needs essentials to the UCSB community. Reaching over 25% of the UCSB campus through our pantry, auxiliary programs, and partners, we aim to keep our pantry stocked with staples while also introducing culturally diverse products to our clients. In addition, we prioritize the smooth operation of our pantry space to ensure students feel respected and encouraged to receive vital goods and services that may not otherwise be readily available. Stop by for some free resources and support us by voting YES on the ASFB lock-in fee!
