Do you support an increase of the lock-in fee funding to the A.S. Food Bank so each undergraduate student will be charged $18.88 in regular quarters and summer quarter? Students are currently charged $12.84 per quarter including summer. Beginning in Fall 2025, this proposal will increase the existing fee of $12.84 by $6.04 (breakdown: $4.53 goes to the program and $1.51 goes to RTA. Of the $4.53 collected, a 1% A.S. admin fee will be collected and a 10% administrative assessment will be charged to all non-capital expenditures.

The AS Food Bank is a program of the Associated Students of UCSB. It is a student-run, student-funded organization that provides free food and basic needs essentials to the UCSB community in our mission to alleviate food insecurity on campus and cultivate a safe and dignified space for students to access resources. The ASFB maintains and supports numerous vital programs— including its main pantry, Snack Station Program, Community Vending Machine Program, Meal Voucher Program, Online Order Bags, Seed Bank, Students with Dependents Program, Halal and Kosher Grocery Program, and more to serve the varied and unique needs of the diverse student population.
Your quarterly contribution pays for itself in just one visit to the AS Food Bank pantry, and provides a safety net for the student community to land on in the face of unprecedented times.
